- Promoting Positive Behaviour: Encourage good manners, respectful interaction, and inclusive play. Mediate minor disagreements and report any persistent behavioural issues to teaching staff.

- Organising Activities: Initiate and supervise simple games or activities to engage children and promote physical activity and teamwork during playtime.

While previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous, it is not always essential. Schools value individuals with proven experience working with children, a responsible attitude, and strong soft skills. If you have been a parent helper, sports coach, youth worker, or have transferable skills from a Customer Service Advisor role, we encourage you to apply. We assess suitability based on attitude and potential.
Hours vary by school but are typically centred around the lunch period. You can expect shifts to run between approximately 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM, Monday to Friday during term time only. Shifts usually range from 1.5 to 2.5 hours per day. This makes it an ideal role for those seeking part-time work, such as parents, students, or individuals with other part-time commitments like a Medical Receptionist morning shift.
You will be employed by Staffing Service, a licensed recruitment agency. We handle all payroll, pensions (where applicable), and holiday pay. You will submit timesheets to us, and we pay you directly into your bank account on a weekly basis. This provides consistency and reliability. For more on how we ensure fair and fast payments, see our FAQ page.
Absolutely. Many schools use temporary contracts initially to ensure a good fit. A significant number of our Lunchtime Supervisor placements convert to permanent, direct contracts with the school after a successful trial period. We see this frequently with other roles too, such as Warehouse Operatives and support staff. We will always support you if a permanent offer is made.
Our support is ongoing. You will have a dedicated consultant who is your main point of contact for any queries, from payroll issues to workplace concerns. We conduct regular check-ins to ensure you are happy and the school is satisfied. We also provide access to training resources and can advise on career progression within the education sector. Think of us as your partner in your job search, much like our approach to comprehensive HR solutions for businesses.
