Main Responsibilities

• Perform regular patrols of the premises to identify and address potential security risks, safety hazards, or operational issues

• Check tickets, credentials, and access passes to prevent unauthorized entry and maintain venue security protocols

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, fire safety requirements, and licensing conditions specific to Westminster venues
• Manage access control for VIP areas, backstage zones, and restricted sections of the venue
• Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs of all security-related activities and occurrences
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of security barriers, signage, and crowd management equipment
• Conduct bag searches and security screenings in accordance with venue policies and current threat assessments
• Provide customer service and directional assistance to guests while maintaining professional security presence
• Coordinate staff breaks, shift changes, and deployment adjustments based on crowd dynamics and event requirements
• Enforce venue policies regarding prohibited items, behavior standards, and capacity limitations
• Monitor weather conditions for outdoor elements and advise on appropriate safety measures
• Ensure all security staff maintain proper uniform standards and professional conduct throughout their shift
• Collaborate with local Metropolitan Police and emergency services when incidents require external support
• Conduct post-event debriefs with security team and provide feedback to venue management on operations and improvements
Required Skills & Experience
✅ Essential Requirements
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in event security or crowd management within high-profile venues or events
• Valid SIA Security License (Door Supervisor or Close Protection) is essential and must be in date
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage and coordinate security teams effectively
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and emergency procedures specific to event environments
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, staff, and members of the public professionally
• Physical fitness and ability to remain standing for extended periods, often 8-12 hour shifts
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills with calm approach to handling difficult situations
• Flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as events require
• Familiarity with West End venues, theatres, and corporate event spaces in the WC2 area is advantageous
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain qualification is highly desirable
• Right to work in the UK with appropriate documentation verified before employment
• Professional appearance and ability to wear uniform or formal attire as required by venue standards
