Main Responsibilities

• Receiving and storing deliveries, checking stock items and organizing storage areas properly

• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing garnishes

• Cleaning and defrosting fridges, freezers, and cold storage units on scheduled basis

• Ensuring all cleaning chemicals are stored safely and used according to COSHH regulations

• Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods by maintaining stock levels of clean equipment

• Deep cleaning kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, fryers, and extraction systems

• Mopping and sweeping kitchen floors multiple times per shift to prevent slips and maintain safety

• Restocking cleaning supplies and notifying management when items need reordering

• Removing rubbish to designated areas and maintaining clean bin storage zones

• Assisting with kitchen opening and closing procedures, including security checks

• Maintaining personal hygiene standards and wearing appropriate protective equipment at all times

• Following all food safety, health and safety regulations specific to commercial kitchens in Westminster
