Job Description: Labourer in Birmingham B4

Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties
- Site Preparation & Maintenance: Assisting with setting up work areas, erecting and dismantling scaffolding (under supervision), clearing rubble, debris, and waste materials, and keeping the site tidy and hazard-free.
- Material Handling: Loading and unloading building materials, transporting them around site using appropriate manual handling techniques or equipment like wheelbarrows and sack trucks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly.
- Trade Support: Providing direct support to skilled tradespeople such as bricklayers, carpenters, plasterers, and electricians by mixing mortar, cutting materials to size, and holding items in place.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to all site-specific health and safety regulations, including wearing correct PPE at all times, participating in toolbox talks, and reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
- Basic Plant Operation: Operating non-licensed plant equipment such as vibrating plates, dumpers, or concrete mixers, provided you have received the necessary site induction and training.
What We're Looking For (Requirements)
- Essential – Valid CSCS Card: A valid CSCS Labourer's card (Green or Blue) is mandatory for almost all sites in Birmingham B4. We can advise on obtaining one if needed.
- Proven Experience: Previous experience as a construction labourer, site assistant, or in a similar manual role. A strong, physically fit approach to work is required.
