Key Responsibilities & Daily Duties

• Food Preparation & Service: Assist with basic food prep, set up serving stations, and serve meals to customers in a timely and courteous manner, maintaining high standards of presentation.
• Cleaning & Hygiene: Ensure all kitchen, servery, and dining areas are kept impeccably clean. This includes washing up, wiping surfaces, mopping floors, and adhering to strict food safety (HACCP) regulations.
• Stock Control: Assist with receiving deliveries, checking quantities, rotating stock (FIFO), and notifying supervisors of low stock levels for essential items.
• Customer Interaction: Provide friendly and efficient service, handle customer queries politely, and help maintain a positive atmosphere in the dining area.
• Team Support: Work collaboratively with chefs, other Food Service Assistants, and management to ensure seamless service, especially during peak breakfast and lunch periods.
• Waste Management: Responsible for the correct segregation and disposal of food and packaging waste in line with site sustainability policies.

Candidate Requirements & Skills

• Previous Experience: Prior experience in a catering, kitchen, or customer-facing hospitality role is highly desirable, though full training can be provided for candidates with the right attitude.
• Food Safety Awareness: A basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) is a significant advantage, demonstrating a commitment to safe practices.
• Physical Fitness: The role involves standing for long periods, lifting moderate weights (like stock boxes), and being active throughout the shift.
• Reliability & Punctuality: As these roles often support critical business operations, reliability and a strong work ethic are non-negotiable.
