Core Responsibilities & Duties
As the Quantity Surveyor, you will be the financial steward of the project. Your day-to-day will involve a mix of site-based measurement and office-based commercial management, requiring sharp analytical skills and robust communication.
- Cost Management & Valuation: Prepare accurate monthly cost reports, cost-to-complete forecasts, and applications for payment. Conduct detailed site measurements to validate subcontractor valuations and variations.
- Subcontract Administration: Manage the full subcontract lifecycle—from tender analysis and drafting orders to assessing interim payments, valuing variations, and agreeing final accounts.
- Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify commercial risks and opportunities. Robustly manage the change control process, ensuring all variations are captured, priced, and agreed upon in accordance with the contract.
- Financial Reporting: Work closely with the Project Manager to provide clear financial data, highlighting trends, potential overruns, and profitability for senior management review.
- Contractual Compliance: Ensure all works are executed in line with JCT or NEC contract provisions. Provide advice on contractual matters to the site team and handle any correspondence with the client's Quantity Surveyor.
- Procurement Support: Assist the buying team with material and package procurement, providing commercial input on tenders and negotiating with suppliers to achieve best value.

To be successful in this high-pressure, fast-paced Heathrow environment, you will need a blend of technical knowledge, soft skills, and relevant experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.

- Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in measurement, documentation, and financial reporting.
